\nFilip graduated cum laude in 2015 under the mentorship of Professor Igor Le\u0161nik and by that time, during his musical education, he had already built a solid foundation for himself in Croatian music. In 2010, he was the second musician from Croatia to get to the Eurovision Young Musicians final (Monika Leskovar was first in 1998) and play for the audience of 45,000 in front of Vienna City Hall, accompanied by the ORF Symphony Orchestra conducted by Cornelius Meister.<\/p>\n

Since then, Filip Mer\u010dep won some of the most prestigious musical awards: Ivo Vuljevi\u0107 for the best young musician in 2011; Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra\u2019s award for the best young musician in 2015; the Town of Samobor Award; the Yamaha Scholarship Award as the best percussionist from the Zagreb Academy of Music; second place in the Universal Marimba Competition in Belgium; winner of the Boris Papandopulo competition in Zagreb; Dean\u2019s List for intense concert activity during studies; Rector\u2019s Award for the performance of percussion concerts written by Croatian authors, and Croatian discographic award Porin in the category of Best Classical Music Interpretation.
\nFilip currently resides in Amsterdam, attending the Live Electronics master studies at Conservatorium van Amsterdam.<\/p>\n

He has held and assisted with masterclasses at the University of Miami, Humboldt State University in California (USA), universities of music in Hannover and Nuremberg (Germany), and National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Lyon (France).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
